"The Intelligent Designer"
10/08/2005

"Recently there has been a debate over whether God is the creator of the universe or that the creation is formed by combination of chemicals, a chance occurrence if you will. The scientific group who supports a "theory" called Intelligent Design (ID) says that there is an intelligence behind the creation." Read full article.

Prabhu, email me and we'll try to work something out. It is nearly 60 pages long.

Haribol, Rebecca! Would it be possible to get a copy of Sadaputa's monogram from you? Either hard copy or digital, it would be greatly appreciated.

Haribol,

I have a copy of that monograph by Sadaputa Prabhu, and it is awesome! Perhaps with the Intelligent Design movement underway, the Bhaktivedanta Institute should consider republishing the piece. I think it has a definate audience at the moment...

Pamho, agtSP!

It's interesting to note that Sadaputa Prabhu used the term "intelligent designer" already in 1976 - and maybe even before. He also used the example of the flagellum to argue in favor of ID, which is exactly what ID scientists Behe, Dembski and other do. If you search the Vedabase for "intelligent designer" it will come up as the first - I think - otherwise the second. It's a conversation with Prabhupada about a slide show called "Life Comes From Life."

Here in Denmark we are a couple of devotees quite active in preaching ID. It's very powerfull. One devotee here made a weblog - www.intelligentdesign.dk - to preach. I also have a weblog about the theism versus atheism debate where I post about ID - among other things.

I can only try to encourage devotees to get into this. I will also recommend that you watch to documentary "Unlocking the Mystery og Life." It's perfect for introducing and preaching ID - and smashing naturalistic evolution.

Hare Krishna!

If anyone has a copy of a monograph published by the Bhaktivedanta Institute in the late '70's by Sadaputa dasa on "Information Theory", it would be a great help in this debate. Therein, Sadaputa essentially demonstrates mathematically that it is not possible for systems of a lower level of organization to spontaneously transform themselves to states of higher organization without the introduction of additional information. It is an excellent refutation of the random chance explanation of material evolution for those with a background in higher mathematics (beyond calculus 1).

Hare Krishna,

I believe Intelligent Design has great promise as an antedote to atheism.

It is clearly non-sectarian and beats the scientists at their own game and in their own jargon.

Look at the recent conversion of the famed atheist Antony Flew. He argued and lectured around the world that science disproved God but the more he considered the complexity of the creation the more he came to see the necessity of an Intelligent Designer.

He has become a theist and rocked the atheistic world whom had considered him as a hero and champion of their cause.

A real scientist will have to come to the same revelation.
