Chief Editors of the Book Changes

BY: RAMA DASA

Aug 23, 2010 — TIMBUKTU (SUN) — Having read Rupanuga prabhu's article, "It's Your Call", offering so many original and then changed verses, it quickly became apparent that butchers of an incompetent nature had edited Srila Prabhupada's words in His books. Whereas the original verses were all quite clear, concise, and easily comprehensible, the changed, altered and butchered verses were often incomprehensible, or very difficult to comprehend, and the usage of English is poor. In many cases I actually could not understand their language and meaning, they made it so esoteric.

Not only are the editors not self-realized souls, they did not have the common sense to see that the verses were already perfect before they made them incomprehensible, even to devotees who know the subject matter.

Having read Govinda dasi's letter, it became crystal clear how unethical, unfeeling, and puffed up are the BBT chief editors, Jayadvaita Swami and Dravida prabhus.

Krsna das Kaviraja asked permission before he wrote Caitanya-caritamrita. Lord Chaitanya asked permission of the devotees before going to Vrindaban. These butcher editors not only asked no one for permission, they displeased thousands of their own godbrothers and godsisters, and they care not.

If the court case had not been won, all these saddened devotees would never have again had access to Srila Prabhupada's original works of art, pure devotion and impeccable reasoning. The editors are unfeeling, puffed up and with absolutely no remorse, though they have disgruntled so many devotees of the Lord. This is not a sign of devotion, to think that they know best, disregarding all other feelings.

The chief editors' reasoning and articles favoring their dastardly editing I find so distasteful, despicable, and repulsive that I find it difficult to even approach any longer, knowing that is it filled with self-aggrandizing lies.
