A Response to Ravi dasa

BY: MAHAVIDYA DASA (ACBSP)

May 9, UK (SUN) —

I read the article "Coup" by Ravi das.
An interesting point was raised by him.
Here are some thoughts that came to mind.
As far as I know, the GBC body (as any management body) is made up of a group of individuals.
Each one of them different.
Over the years I have served under many of them.
Like many others, I tried to cooperate with them in carrying on Srila Prabhupada's mission.
My first GBC was Hansadutta das.
My second was Jayatirtha das.
My third was Bhagavan das.
My fourth was Sivarama Swami.
Now I have Praghosa das.
I have lost count of the number of Temple Presidents,
All of them different in their own unique way.
So what is your point, Mahavidya..........?
Do we wish to destroy everyone who makes a mistake, get rid of them, eradicate or obliterate them?
How would I like to be treated if I screwed up?
After all, am I not also a conditioned soul?
Are we not supposed to learn from our mistakes?
That is, if we are capable of making one.
hmmmmm..........
So, in my opinion what makes a good manager?
one who is open to feedback........
one who is open to constructive criticism....
one who is willing to have a forum for dialogue.
What makes a good Iskcon manager?
First and foremost,
a dedication to carrying out Srila Prabhupada's wishes...
not mine, not yours,
But His
even imperfectly.
Could we at least agree on that?
But with an attitude that,
I am not perfect,
there is room for improvement.
Yes, I am prepared to follow such a person.
And if no such attitude exists,
Why should I follow?
If the question is...
Am I prepared to lead?
My reply would have to be ...
Would you wish to follow?
