Paramadvaiti Swami Has Issues

BY: KRISHNA DAS

Mar 02, 2011 — MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (SUN) — Over the last two weeks there has been a heated polemic in the Spanish blog El Tambor Rugiente, published by Radha Krishna das, over the issue of Paramadvaiti Swami's recurrent practice of embracing his women disciples. The blog also addresses the peculiar ways of preaching (the Spoon Revolution, Oidatherapy, the OKIS cards printed with the aim of stopping cow killing, the initiative to rescue the Yamuna River, etc.) adopted by Paramadvaiti Swami and Atulananda dasa Adhikari, both initiating gurus of "Vrinda", the institution founded by the former after breaking off with ISKCON.

El Tambor Rugiente calls these preaching activities "karma-yoga", and not the pure, undiluted Krishna Consciousness Srila Prabhupada presented to the West with unmatched success. "Besides the legacy we receive from Srila Prabhupada, what is the need of introducing these new concoctions", Radha Krishna says bluntly. He further argues that this kind of loose conduct was never, but never shown by Srila Prabhupada, Paramadvaiti Swami's diksa-guru, neither by Srila Sridhar Swami, his siksa-guru.

After Radha Krishna published the first pictures, where you can see a carefree Paramadvaiti Swami embracing mostly young women, other devotees "collaborated" by sending him more visual proof.

Radha Krishna wrote that this action of embracing women is unacceptable, a grave deviation completely out of place for someone who has taken the sannyasa order. He added the embraces are basically a sentimental technique used by Maharaja for "appropriating them", to secure a long-life bond with them.

A lady disciple of Paramadvaiti Swami retorted by writing a commentary under the post, "Tremendo Agarrón" (A Tremendous Clinch):

"Regarding the recent posts on Paramadvaiti Swami and his relation to his female disciples.

It is said that the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, and it is the same way with the dirt.

The dirt you see in others, is born from your own heart. You can only expect from others, what you know from yourself. What you speak is a mirror of your heart and your mind. This is something that even a child can understand, what to speak of scholars of Vedic philosophy.

Putting one's arm on the shoulders of a person is simply a loving gesture. What's wrong with you?! Trying to make something sexual or erotic out of that, simply makes your talk ridiculous. Nobody can take it serious. Has it never come to your mind, that those pictures that you have chosen to put on that blog, shows Paramadvaiti Swami's fatherly love for his spiritual daughters? Or that he is actually embracing a devotee of the Lord, and not a lusty woman?! It seems you have forgotten the basic teaching of Lord Krishna, that we are not this body.

Shame on you who are miscrediting Paramadvaiti Swami and trying to throw dirt on him, but this is like spitting in the wind. It will come back on you in due time."

Radha Krishna published a short answer in the "Commentaries" section (below), and also by publishing another post entitled, "El Caso de Chota Haridasa" (The Chota Haridasa Case).

    "Dear Maria,

Thanks for your comment. Nonetheless, personal opinions in this case are irrelevant. We are discussing standards. There are standards that a sannyasi or renounced person with vows of celibacy has to follow. That is what this is about. Paramadvaiti presents himself as a sannyasi and representative of a lineage of renounced teachers that follow specific norms of behavior. Well, he is not following them and still claims to be the current link in that lineage.

Your comments are welcomed, but please make sure that they are based on the principles of sannyasa behavior and standards to be taken seriously.

But immediately afterwards, the same day, a disenfranchised Canadian devotee apparently ripped off by Paramadvaiti Swami in Argentina, submitted his own personal, scary experience with Maharaja (below). It will be nice if Sampradaya Sun can independently corroborate the devotee's history.

    "Jai Radhe,

Maria, the reasons that Paramadvaiti is being raked over the coals is not just about Vaisnava etiquette. His deviations go so, so much further. His outwardly demeanour and lack of etiquette is only a symptom of something much, much more debased. To support allegations of child molestation and pyromania against an innocent 15-year-old boy in his farm in Argentina without a shred of evidence, whilst his leaders slander a whole family for being shameless alcoholics and drug addicts, then take them to court for usurping their own house, which they bought with love (but no papers) from another devotee for US$ 9,000 and then invested a good US$ 20,000 above that, plus donating US$ 5,000 to build a temple (that they were never again allowed to enter) only 20 meters from their house, plus investing more than US$ 20,000 in an organic garden and volunteer program, which now brings them in US$ 10,000 a month. To not allow them the basic human rights to defend themselves against all these accusations whilst all the members of the congregation are subjugated and humiliated to not speak out, to cut their electricity supply, thus denying them light and water, to cut their access and ambush them every night with punches, kicking them and shoving a gun in their back and firing the gun at the house in the night to frighten them. And all this was done so as to take the family properties at a bargain basin price of their saying by trying to scare those who should be protected - the cows, the elderly, the women and children. And then when here, to answer the chaos his leaders had created, he denied that he wrote the slanderous letters, but admits he gave the orders to rob the family of its rights to their house and investments, to attack them and deny them light, water and access, deny them the right to answer all the false allegations against them, but then in a magistral hypocritical claim says that until he is shown to be guilty in a court of law then he is innocent.

Excuse me Maria, but the sycocphantic followers of a bogus "guru", a boghi, need to open their eyes to the disgraceful criminality and uncouth behaviour of someone who at one time was a faithful follower of Srila Prabhupada, but is now no more than a criminal, robbing the innocent of their faith in Sri Sri Radha Krsna Yugala.

And to the editors of the Tambor Rugiente, you have taken on the service of media reporters for Gaudiya Vaisnavism in the Spanish Language. Such an event as what happened in Argentina should not be so lightly looked over, and I claim that neither should you wait for the results of a criminal hearing, which may never come ---due to the rampant corruption in this country. I will try to get devotees to write to you to collaborate all I have said, but I see that "the Latins" are far too apathetic (and far easier subjugated and humiliated than the average gringo) to see that denouncing said criminal acts has any real value. I agree with you in your service to Srila Prabhupada that it is more than necessary to denounce and bring to justice such hypocrites. Please pay more attention to our case and do some real investigative journalism, because what happened to us is so grave as to put whatelse you are writing about Paramadvaiti into the realm of insignificance."
