The Rise of the Adharmic Schism Acaryas

Mar 3, USA (SUN) — Comment on "Dharma and Adharmas".

Upon reading the “Dharma and Adharmas” article I was very impressed by how clearly and objectively the authors presented the issues. But I wanted to find out for myself, so I decided to conduct my own research on this matter. I wanted to find out what evidence there was from not only the GBC and Shastra, but also what other devotees understood of these issues.

My original opinion of Braja Bihari das was that he was just another opportunistic individual and that he wrote the essay "Pizza or Pakoras", (P.O.P.) as a cheap sales pitch so he could take his milking of the ISCKON’ ‘cash cow’ to another level. In other words, someone who was not to be taken seriously…

At the end of my research for this letter I was actually disturbed by what I found out. Not that I want to disturb the readers, but I firmly believe that devotees need to be made aware of what is happening in ISKCON.

There is a hidden history of ISKCON, the real history of ISKCON that devotees like Braja Bihari das would like us not to be aware of. It is there before our very eyes, but very few have been able to put it together. Articles like “Dharma and Adharmas” prove that there are devotees who can see this history for what it really is and are not afraid to say so. I have included links to other devotees who also have this vision.

Now I would like to present my first research subject - the claim by the authors of the paper “Dharma and Adharmas” that the GBC supported the presentation by Braja Bihari das.

Upon researching the minutes of the GBC meetings I found this statement by the GBC, which clearly indicates to what extent Braja Bihari Prabhu (and his P.O.P. essay) has influenced the upper echelon devotees. It also clearly displays the power he has in steering this movement into the secular way of operating.

“Next, Braja Bihari Prabhu gave a presentation entitled, "Pizza or Pakoras: Reconciling Liberal and Conservative Viewpoints in ISKCON". He discussed the general sources of conflict (information, resources, relationships, interests or needs, structures, and values) and then discussed three additional sources that are specifically found in spiritual organizations. He then narrowed in on the ISKCON experience and explained how our devotees alter much of their identity when taking to Krishna consciousness (dress, eating habits, family relations, friends, vocabulary, etc). When we meet other devotees who have similarly invested their identities, yet have a differing viewpoint on some aspect of Krishna consciousness, there is often conflict.

He presented solutions to ISKCON conflicts which included: increased dialogue, taking advantage of ISKCON Resolve's services (mediation, arbitration, conflict analysis, ombudsmen's office), applying a tool called Polarity Management, allowing for diversity of opinions in many facets of ISKCON's views except the most core principles, and ultimately transcending our differences by chanting and taking prasadam together.

The presentation was well received by the GBC body and led to a lively discussion.”

I was amazed that they bought it ‘lock stock and smoking barrel!’ How many senior devotees were sitting and listening with rapt attention to this bunch of mumbo jumbo? The last sentence says it all… Braja Bihari must have been laughing all the way home after pulling that off!

Then I looked at what Srila Prabhupada has said on this matter. When I began my research I could not help but remember the statement by Braja Bihari in his subversive paper "Pizza or Pakoras" on how devotees use the Veda Base to find arguments that support their biased claims. What really burned me up was how I was so easily influenced by an idea that he placed in my head! Now I could taste the venom in his words. How he must hate that we have such easy access to the philosophy!

Then he goes on by quoting the part that the age of Kali is the age of quarrel and how we should all get along by sentimentally accepting any kind of philosophical gibberish in the name of co-operating.

If we are to read what Srila Prabhupada has to say in the Srimad Bhagavatam, we find the verse SB 1.16.22:

"Are you feeling compunction for the unhappy women and children who are left forlorn by unscrupulous persons? Or are you unhappy because the goddess of learning is being handled by brahmanas addicted to acts against the principles of religion? Or are you sorry to see that the brahmanas have taken shelter of administrative families that do not respect brahminical culture?"

Srila Prabhupada in his purport elaborated further how Kali is influencing people in this age.

"In the age of Kali, the women and the children, along with brahmanas and cows, will be grossly neglected and left unprotected. In this age illicit connection with women will render many women and children uncared for. Circumstantially, the women will try to become independent of the protection of men, and marriage will be performed as a matter of formal agreement between man and woman. In most cases, the children will not be taken care of properly. The brahmanas are traditionally intelligent men, and thus they will be able to pick up modern education to the topmost rank, but as far as moral and religious principles are concerned, they shall be the most fallen. Education and bad character go ill together, but such things will run parallel. The administrative heads as a class will condemn the tenets of Vedic wisdom and will prefer to conduct a so-called secular state, and the so-called educated brahmanas will be purchased by such unscrupulous administrators. Even a philosopher and writer of many books on religious principles may also accept an exalted post in a government which denies all the moral codes of the sastras. The brahmanas are specifically restricted from accepting such service. But in this age they will not only accept service, but they will do so even if it is of the meanest quality. These are some of the symptoms of the Kali age which are harmful to the general welfare of human society."

Further along we find another valuable sloka which explains more on this matter:

SB 1.17.3 : The bull was as white as a white lotus flower. He was terrified of the sudra who was beating him, and he was so afraid that he was standing on one leg, trembling and urinating.

    PURPORT
The next symptom of the age of Kali is that principles of religion, which are all spotlessly white, like the white lotus flower, will be attacked by the uncultured sudra population of the age. They may be descendants of brahmana or ksatriya forefathers, but in the age of Kali, for want of sufficient education and culture of Vedic wisdom, such a sudra-like population will defy the principles of religion, and persons who are religiously endowed will be terrified by such men. They will declare themselves as adherents of no religious principles, and many “isms” and cults will spring up in Kali-yuga only to kill the spotless bull of religion. The state will be declared to be secular, or without any particular principle of religion, and as a result there will be total indifference to the principles of religion. The citizens will be free to act as they like, without respect for sadhu, sastra and guru. The bull standing on one leg indicates that the principles of religion are gradually diminishing. Even the fragmental existence of religious principles will be embarrassed by so many obstacles as if in the trembling condition of falling down at any time.

After reading these purports I remember reading articles on Braja Bihari das from other devotees who have seen him for who he is. These letters are extremely relevant to this purport and the issue at hand. One can get a nice overview on Braja Bihari das and his modus operandi and activities by reading the following devotees opinions of him and what he is doing in ISKCON.

The letter by Bh. Vanya prabhu explains how (M.E.D) Ministry for Educational Development destroyed brahminical education by implementing a secular (post industrial” sudra”) education in ISKCON (Vrindavan gurukula issues).

The letter by Vrindavan prabhu explains Braja Bihari’s attempt at stealing the Cows' land in Vrindavana for his devious purpose (Braja Bihari goshala scam).

I was told that even to this day out of the whole 13 acres of gosala land, 350 cows are being cramped on only 3 acres of the land while the majority of the other 10 acres is being utilized by the “pseudo” gurukula. These young Indian boys use the cows' land as their playing grounds for soccer, volleyball, cricket and other frivolous mundane activities.

The letter by Gurukuli das provides hard facts on Braja Bihari das’s involvement in abusing our children by actively lobbying for Gauri das to abuse children in the form of hard slaps when punishing the children, considering physical abuse as a reasonable viable solution. Reports from his pupils show how expertly and enthusiastically Gauri das followed his superior’s advice and administered the “reasonable viable solution” of slapping children’s faces as punishment.

The letters by Jagadeesha das here, here, and here) elaborate on Braja Bihari das’s plans to condemn the tenets of Vedic wisdom and Srila Prabhupada`s instructions as mere suggestions and superimposing his (Braja Bihari das’s) preference to conduct a so-called secular administration of our movement.

Now it is crystal clear to me that Braja Bihari das, when seen thru the eyes of the Srimad Bhagavatam, Srila Prabhupada’s instructions and devotees who can see him for who he really is and what he actually stands for, is actually an aggressor.

How is this possible? That anyone can get away with such a brazen plan to subvert our Srila Prabhupada’s movement with their own plans? Then I read the letter by Ananta das.

So this is how? They parade themselves like an Uttama Adhikari so the innocent will be mislead by them, thinking that these devotees are, in fact, advanced Vaisnavas!

The added advantage for them is that we will spend our valuable time arguing about this Schism or that Schism. And that is exactly what Kali wants us to do, isn’t it???

Now we can all see that “The Emperor is Naked!” The Kali Chela is revealed! What else can be concluded from all of this? This is Kali’s time. We are not immune from his influence because we are trying to devote our lives to serving Krishna. His influence did not get into our movement by itself. It was brought in like a virus. This mentality that Braja Bihari has inoculated our movement with is spreading fast. The spiritual mortality rate of this virus is 100% if it is not checked.

The GBC has been infected now…
