Satsvarupa

Jan 1, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (SUN) — The inclusion of Satsvarupa in the ranks of such an elite status as the ISKCON sannyas order reflects very badly on all the others. I am surprised that not one of the other sannyasis are publicly protesting the decision of the committee to allow him to continue to have that stature.
I have no problem with him counseling disciples who choose to take his instructions as meaningful to them; that decision rests solely on the shoulders of those who submit themselves. However, the fact that he remains an authorized sannyasi in the ISKCON camp lowers the bar for all the others.
There is a five-year probation period for devotees wanting to be sannyasis, and any hint of an objection will prolong or nullify their acceptance into the renounced order. But Satsvarupa can have sex with a Prabhupada disciple's wife and hold on to his saffron cloth. Go figure.
Will I pay my obeisances to him as is demanded of the sastras for a person in the renounced order? I don't think so. Then I would be a hypocrite too.
