Gita Jayanti - ISKCON Phoenix Fired Up

"We should be fired up in distributing Srila Prabhupada's books", said His Grace Parameswar das during the Srimad Bhagavatam class discussion in Sri Sri Radha MadhavaHari Dham, ISKCON of Phoenix. "There is so much material fire in the world, samsara davanala ... and it can be extinguished by spiritual knowledge through book distribution."

Parameswar prabhu is well known as the biggest spiritual book distributor in America for the past five years. During his recent visit to Phoenix, he was accompanied by three bhaktas: Lakshmikanth Rao from Texas, Aidan and Sean from Atlanta, Georgia and Washington, DC, respectively. Their goal was to visit Arizona State University (ASU), Tempe and East Polytechnic campuses, where students favorably accept Krishna Consciousness books. It may be mentioned that both Phoenix and ASU are in 5th place as regards to cities and universities, respectively, in America.

Parameswar prabhu quoted Srila Prabhupada: "Whenever there is a problem in Temple, go to Hari Naam Sankirtan. Distribution of books assists in preaching."

Last month, Hari Naam was organized jointly by Janardana das (above) - a Temple Resident devotee - accompanied by me during the City of Chandler's Block Party on the occasion of inauguration of recently built City Building.

Hari Naam in downtown Phoenix on first Friday of the month gathers over 2,000 visitors and has been very powerful to promote Krishna Consciousness as well as spiritual books. The previous Temple President, Daru Krishna das, is seen chanting during Hari Naam in downtown Phoenix (above). Standing next to him was Janet Napolitano, then Governor of Arizona, and currently Secretary, Homeland Security Department, who joined us briefly.
