Our Dearest Chandravali devi, Gone Too Soon
from this World

Mar 29, 2011 — USA (SUN) — Chandravali Kamhout or ‘Chandra', daughter to Parvati and Lal-Krsna prabhus, died on March 26, 2011 around 1 p.m. of complications related to Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), a condition she's been battling since 2004. She was only 38 years old. She is survived by her dearly loved son, Jai Kamhout-Kerns, her sister Lila and brother Das.

Chandra was born a devotee in Los Angeles and attended the New Dwarka girl's Gurukula for 2 years, from 1976 –1978. Although she continued her primary education outside the temple, she remained close to the girls from the ashram throughout most of her life.

She led a very accomplished life; besides being a remarkable mother, she opened a thriving restaurant, had a small baking company, and was a partner with her sister in LoKo Jewelry, among other successful enterprises. She is best known for her devotion and dedication to raising her son, her passion for cooking and her enthusiasm for the beach!

Chandravali is the name of Radharani's archrival for Krsna's attention. In competition with our dear Chandra, none of us could compare with her generous spirit, kindheartedness, loyalty or how she lived her life with passion! Chandra literally means ‘to shine', which she did and will continue to do in our hearts forever.

We are holding a Memorial Ceremony this Friday at 6 p.m. If you are living in the Los Angeles area, contact any of her friends or family to attend. Thank you for all your support and prayers; she was deeply loved by all who knew her.

At 9am – 10am Wednesday, March 30, 2011, her material body will be cremated. Please chant and pray to help her on her journey home.
