May 02, 2013 USA (SUN) Rutgers University has Higher Ethical and Moral Standards than ISKCON Leadership.
A wise person should not enter an assembly if he knows the participant there are committing acts of impropriety. And if, having entered such an assembly, he fails to speak the truth, speaks falsely or pleads ignorance, he will certainly incur sin (Srimad Bhagavatam 10.44.10).
In my article, "The Art of Hypocrisy", I tried to analyze the open and blatant hypocrisy of ISKCON Leadership in regard to their handling of the assault of a female disciple by Ravindra Svarupa dasa. Since I wrote this article, Rutgers University has fired a coach for kicking and verbally assaulting one of his players. It is really amazing that Ravindra Svarupa dasa basically did the same exact thing to one of his female disciples and he is STILL a leader in the Hare Krishna Movement! So a non-devotee male sports leader at a university has to follow a higher standard of moral and ethical conduct than a Guru, GBC and Temple President in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. This proves that the standard for ISKCON leadership is much lower than the general "karmi" standard of leadership. This is an absolute disgrace and total offense to Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krishna.
At this moment, Bhakti Caru Swami is in Philadelphia visiting his good friend Ravindra. So while he is there showing his support for Ravindra Svarupa, he is racking up his implication in this absolutely ridiculous crime and controversy. I have run into ISKCON Philadelphia members in Philadelphia and they all say the same thing: that they don't want to say anything because they just want to be able to go the Temple. Keeping silent, according to them, allows them to avoid any harassment or interference with their service and worship. But it is a fact that they are implicated in his sin by not saying or doing anything. This isn't my opinion, but is the opinion of the Srimad Bhagavatam.
This is the reason this movement is in shambles -- because weak-hearted people somehow think that it is easier not to address the crimes and deviations of various ISKCON leaders. This isn't very advanced devotional service, however. Instead of doing what YOU want to do, you should do what KRISHNA wants you to do. It certainly may be an inconvenience. You also may get harassed by corrupt leaders and their followers, or worse. But you will be following the instructions of the Lord and will therefore be in His grace, protection and blessing. Isn't that what we are supposed to want?
Trust me, Lord Krishna has reciprocated with me greatly for standing up against this person. Actually, Srila Prabhupada appeared to me in a dream and told me I did the right thing and that he was pleased with me. So I could care less about the opinions of cult leaders and cult members who would rather follow Ravindra Svarupa blindly and sentimentally. This is why I have lost all respect for the ISKCON Philadelphia community. Until they stand up against this gross violation of moral, ethical and religious principles, I have no desire to be in their fellowship.
Every day that the leaders of ISKCON and members of ISKCON Philadelphia allow Ravindra Svarupa to parade around that place as a false spiritual leader, they are proving to the Lord that they care more about their own personal convenience than what He and Srila Prabhupada want. Various nefarious people who severely crippled this mission would be long gone if members of this movement had stood up together against them.
The ISKCON Philadelphia Temple is a sociological and spiritual disaster and everyone there knows it and admits it, especially people like me who have lived there. It is just mind boggling how people can accept what he did to Mother Ghandharvika and still be able to stomach him sitting on the Vyasasana on Sundays. I can't see how this is more convenient than saying and doing something about what he did. What if Ghandharvika was your mother or sister? Well, if you actually believed anything about this philosophy, you would know that she already is.
