Oct 09, 2015 USA (SUN) The leader of Krishna West continues to talk nonsense by minimising Srila Prabhupada and his instructions, the potency of the Holy Names, and the potency of distribution of Srila Prabhupada's transcendental books.
In a recent recording in Aarhus, Denmark on September 9, 2015, Hrdayanada speaks with some Danish devotees and continues to minimise His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada. I don't wish to go into great detail - but here is a little flavour of the man's stunning arrogance.
In response to a question about the efficacy of street chanting he says....
Devotee: "but doesn't the Holy Name, that has, like, an effect"
HdG: "not nearly as much as we think"
Devotee: "no?"
HdG: "No. Krishna says that. I'm quoting Krishna. Yes, I'm glad somebody, oh my God" trails off......
Devotee: "I'm sorry I'm asking all these…."
HdG: "No! No! You're a beautiful young lady. I'm glad you're asking. It's, um, Krishna says in the last verse of chapter 17 in the Gita, a verse which, apparently, I'm the only one that reads, but Krishna says
'asraddhaya hutam dattam, tapas taptam krtam cay at, asad ity ucyate partha, na ca tat pretya no iha'
ANY religious activity, or spiritual activity, performed without faith, has very little effect."
Here is what Srila Prabhupada says in response to the same question:
Amogha: Śrīla Prabhupāda? When people in the street hear Kṛṣṇa's name, the chanting, or they get some literature, does that mean they will not take birth as an animal?
Prabhupāda: "No. They'll get birth in a good family. Śucīnāṁ śrīmatāṁ gehe (BG 6.41). If they simply appreciate "It is very nice," then in the next life, human life is guaranteed. In a very nice family. Simply if he appreciates, "Yes, it is very nice"—that's all. Then he'll get another chance."
Hrdayananda then appears to minimise the potency and importance of Srila Prabhupada's book distribution programme:
"We sold tens of millions of books in the United States. Tens of millions of Srila Prabhupada's books, and the result? The movement collapsed."
It is amazing to me that in his mind, the collapse had nothing to do with 11 men selling the whole movement a fairy tale that they were as good as God pure devotees, competent to sit on full size Vyasasans in Srila Prabhupada's temples and give diksha to all the new devotees that they had conned their Godbrothers and Godsisters into recruiting for them. The untold pain, suffering and chaos caused by this infamous hoax is still reverberating throughout the movement to this day.
A little further on in his 'Darshan', the Maharaja unwittingly reveals his disrespect for Srila Prabhupada by making the following statement:
"He was a really great guy, and a pure devotee of Krsna, and Krsna's representative"
This for me just sums up exactly how far off track and offensive this man has become. Therefore I was more than happy to hear on the grapevine earlier today that Krishna West has now been banned from Europe.
The GBC must be very strong in putting out these fires of philosophical deviations as soon as they rise up. They have already let this issue go on far too long. Hrdayananda should immediately be suspended from all activities on behalf of ISKCON.
Please consider the following account .....
"One night after his lecture, while Prabhupāda sat conversing with disciples, Govinda dāsī handed him an advertisement Rāya Rāma had designed for Back to Godhead magazine. The ad featured several pictures of Prabhupāda and the headline "This Man Has Changed the History of the World." The devotees were proud of the ad, which was supposed to be in accordance with the latest graphic and advertising trends. Prabhupāda, however, held the ad in his hand silently. Finally, someone asked him what he thought of it, and Prabhupāda replied, "This is not good. It is not considered respectful to call the spiritual master by the term "man.' " This shows the state of consciousness of the disciple, he explained. Frowning, he handed back the ad." (Srila Prabhupada Lilamrta)
This account is somewhat understandable, considering the neophyte stage of the early disciples. To refer to Srila Prabhupada as 'a really great guy' after 45 years in the movement is nothing short of outrageous.
Srila Prabhupada is NOT an 'ordinary man' by anybody's standards. Therefore the transcendental mission he created needs to be protected from such arrogant know-it-all disciples who, having failed in their cynical attempt at being 'Great Acaryadevas' now have to try to drag Srila Prabhupada down to their own mundane platform.
Please note that in his Declaration of Will written in Vrndavan just before his departure His Divine Grace wrote:
"2. Each temple will be an Iskcon property and will be managed by three executive directors. The system of management will CONTINUE AS IT IS NOW AND THERE IS NO NEED FOR ANY CHANGE"
Don't people read the Will?
