Hindu Darshan: Exploring the Art of India

Oct 29, OXFORD, OHIO (SUN) The Miami University Art Museum, located at Oxford, Ohio, will open an exhibition of excellent devotional paintings on Tuesday, November 1st. The exhibition theme is darshan, being in the presence of a holy object or shrine. The exhibition will highlight paintings made as keepsakes for pilgrims to the holy center of Puri in the province of Orissa in eastern India. Also included will be a group of miniature paintings from Kashmir in northern India. Lord Sri Krishna will be featured in many of the paintings.
The exhibition runs from November 1st through April 2nd. Admission is free to the public. The Art Museum is at the southern edge of the Miami University campus on U.S. 27 (Patterson Avenue).
