HH Subhag Swami's visit to Arizona

BY: DR. PRAYAG NARAYAN MISRA

Jul 22, 2010 — PHOENIX, ARIZONA, USA (SUN) — Based in Mayapur, West Bengal, India, His Holiness Subhag Swami stopped over in Phoenix enroute to Laguna Beach California during his brief visit to America. It sprinkled and brought some relief in sultry Phoenix and Sedona upon his arrival. He compared the heat in Arizona to the Middle East, where he has many disciples in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Quatar and elsewhere.

Swami Subhag expressed condolences at the sudden demise of H.G. Aindra das Brahmchari in Vrindavan. He requested every one present to engage in seva irrespective of administrative status, and said that there is no excuse for not doing one's own sadhana. That is more pleasing to Krishna, and He would take care of any misconduct as well deficiency if one is insincere.

Earlier, he spoke on Krishna consciousness to a small gathering of spiritual seekers gathered at the Sedona Center of Vedic Culture, and humbly commented that he is simply repeating the words of his Spiritual Master and adding nothing new.

The Swami narrated many interesting stories of Lord Jagannath's Temple in Mayapur: how a thief's arms and legs were chopped off as a punishment by his boss, because he was stealing bricks and cement from Lord Jagannath's Temple, now under the management of ISKCON Mayapur.

HH Subhag Swami, a very senior disciple of Srila Prabhupada, is not only very humble but shares love and joy while spreading the message of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Due to paucity of time, he expressed his inability to visit the Chaitanya Cultural Center in Tucson, but promised to come to USA again in near future.
