New Talavan Srila Prabhupada 30th Anniversary Festival

Jul 13, USA (SUN) — Prabhupada Festival Extended!

The upcoming Srila Prabhupada Festival at New Talavan and New Orleans has been extended to four days: Thursday, July 28 through Sunday, July 31.

Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29 are the 30th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada's visit to New Orleans and New Talavan, according to the lunar Vedic calendar. Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31 are the corresponding dates in the Western calendar.

Therefore, New Orleans and New Talavan are having a four-day Grand 30th Anniversary Festival in honor of Srila Prabhupada's transcendental visit! It will be a four-day festival of Krsna Consciousness and fun! Many senior devotees such as Jayapataka Maharaja and others will be here. Everyone is invited to attend. If you've never been to New Talavan, please come. If you have been here before, please bless with your association once again. If there is any possibility that you can attend, we want you here! Thursday July 28th-30th Anniversary of Srila Prabhupada's appearance in New Orleans according to the Vedic calendar

11 AM-Srila Prabhupada arrives at New Orleans Airport and receives the Key to the City from the Mayor

Noon-Srila Prabhupada arrives at New Orleans temple:

o Bhoga Offering
o Puspanjali
o Guru-puja
o Prabhupada-smaranam: Srila Prabhupada's disciples who were present in 1975 will give their personal memories of Srila Prabhupada's arrival.

1:30 PM-Jayapataka Maharaja inaugurates the Festival

o Yogindra Vandana Prabhu welcomes all the dignitaries and guests
o Yogindra announces the schedule details, introduces festival staff
o Programs with festival contacts distributed to all guests

2 PM-Class by Jayapataka Maharaja

3-5 PM-One of the world's greatest feasts!

5 PM-Srila Prabhupada darshan: recording of Srila Prabhupada's room conversation in New Orleans. Transcripts will be provided and slide of Srila Prabhupada's visit will be shown.

6:45 PM-Awards ceremony honoring New Sankirtan Puri's past Temple Presidents, GBCs and Directors
