May 06, WORCESTERSHIRE, ENGLAND (BBC) — Historic house project needs £4m.

More than £4m will be needed to turn a historic Worcestershire house into a tourist attraction, the National Trust has said. Croome Court, the former home of the Earls of Coventry, was in private hands for several decades.

But last year it was bought by the Croome Heritage Trust and will be managed by the National Trust. The house has previously been home to nuns and schoolchildren and was once a commune for Hari Krishna followers.

Those behind the project have said they hope the house will be opened to the public later this year.
