Skinheads Attack Hare Krishna in Yaroslavl

May 25, RUSSIA (UCSJ) — Union of Councils for Jews in the Former Soviet Union
Two skinheads attacked a Hare Krishna in downtown Yaroslavl, according to a May 22, 2006 report by the Regnum news agency. The 30 year old man was walking down the street when two skinheads came up to him and kicked him in the stomach several times. A local Hare Krishna leader told Regnum that this was the first such attack in the city in his memory and that it may have been the work of "typical hooligans" rather than neo-Nazis.
