Yikes... Fake Salagrams

BY: MATHURA DAS

Feb 10, USA (SUN) — Recently, I was given a Salagram Shila as a gift from a well-intended person. Much to my horror, when I inspected the Salagram, it was clear that It had been cracked open (no doubt by hammer) and then polished back down to resemble a natural appearance. This is done to reveal the inner charas, which demons will then ask a higher price for when SELLING, or to look for gold. I asked where the shila came from. Sadly, they DID "make a donation" for it via the website www.shaligram.co.in.

I ask that all devotees avoid buying shilas at all cost under the guise of giving a donation for It. Not only is this against shastra, but there is a high chance you will get an outright fake, made of stone-like plastic resin, or a shila that has been altered, like the one I was given. When I looked at this website www.shaligram.co.in, it is clear that many are also altered.

"Donator" beware!!
