Global Kirtan for the Yamuna

Dear Friends, Bhakti Yogis & Kirtaniyas! Thousands of Sadhus, Babas, Yogis and Pilgrims are gathering for the VRINDAVAN KUMBHA MELA. On the Full Moon of Saturday, January 30 there will be ceremonial bathing at Keshi Ghat at Yamuna River.
Let us join our voices together, around the world, to PRAYER FOR THE YAMUNA to create a GLOBAL KIRTAN synchronized with the 24 HOUR KIRTAN & PUJA in Vrindavan.
On this spiritually potent day, that only happens EVERY 12 YEARS, let us join the pujaris and worshipers of the Yamuna with intention to SAVE THE FUTURE of this sacred place. Please participate by hosting, performing, or singing your heart out at the Yamuna Global Kirtan in your town or village. Already many sangas around the world are hearing the urgent call to gather in a living room, yoga studio or temple to join in this prayer.
Yamuna Devi, the Water Goddess, has flowed through Vrindavan for thousands of years and is the LIVING HEART of the Bhakti tradition rooted there. Keshi Ghat has been a sacred place of worship, ceremony and divinity for 5,000 years.
NOW, this holy place is facing irreversible damage in the name of progress and development, but without consideration for the people, the Water, Earth and traditions of Vrindavan.
OUR VOICES COUNT to peacefully demonstrate the INTERNATIONAL VALUE in preserving this SACRED HERITAGE site of the Bhakti Tradition. Let us put the POWER OF MANTRA and SEVA to work!
Will bathing even be possible for the next Kumbha Mela in 12 years? In a single generation, we have seen her waters, her habitat and now her sacred sites, nearly destroyed. It is not too late to STOP the unnecessary and tragic developments happening there.
Let this be a beginning. Our Spiritual Tourism both contributes and impacts the local village of Vrindavan. May we all consider our impact, our imprint on the Braj Raj, dust of Vrindavan. May we all consider our own sewage and trash going into her waters. May we all unite our voices beyond the walls and labels that may divide us and understand that UNITED, our voices resounding in prayer become extremely powerful FOR THE FUTURE generations that follow us to those river-banks.
On the auspicious occasion of VRINDAVAN KUMBHA MELA, let us pray together in GLOBAL KIRTAN for Yamuna Devi, her future, her water, her sacred sites and the Bhakti tradition that she embodies. In return, may we hope to receive her blessings of sincerity and devotion on the journey of self-realization.
My urgent & heart-felt request,
Krishna Devata devi dasi
