Bali Sankirtana Festival

Jan 01, BALI (SUN) — From November 20th to the 24th, 2009 ISKCON Bali held its 'Bali Sankirtana Festival - The Glorification of the Vaisnavas in the Spirit of Unity'. The first day of the grand festival was the 10th Anniversary of Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Rasesvara. Devotees attended from different parts of Indonesia and the world. On November 21st the Bhaktivedanta Institute held an international seminar entitled Spirituality and Human Life at a university in the capital, Denpasar.

Many activities and programs were scheduled including the inauguration of a new temple in Klung Kung. There are now five ISKCON temples in Bali with devotees numbering in the hundreds.



Hari Nama Sankirtana was done at different locations around the island. November 23rd was the Vyasa Puja celebration of H.H. Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami, who was instrumental in developing the preaching in Bali.

The festival culminated in a Hari Nama Sankirtana gathering at the botanical gardens.
