Corporate ISKCON - Part 25

Jun 14, CANADA (SUN) — A systematic review of ISKCON-related corporations and projects.
Today's Cluster Report presents an interesting group of nodes and personal connections. Our keystone entity in the map is the Institute for Gaudiya Vaishnavism Inc., a domestic non-profit corporation registered in Coral Springs, Florida. One of its five directors, NANA, appears to be a corporation rather than an individual. While all the directors have a number of related corporations and persons, NANA is extensively connected to other corporation, most of which appear to be non-ISKCON/devotee related.
For the sake of brevity, the many NANA connections are be shown in brief, as bracketed items. While we generally provide fully mapped clusters even for personal commercial entities that are one degree of separation from an ISKCON related entity, in this case the list is so extensive, and maps out to so many other apparently unconnected entities, that we will instead list them in terse form.
A number of notable personalities appear in today's Cluster Report, including Howard Resnick (Hridayananda das Goswami), Tridandiswami B. Maharaja, and E. Burke Rochford. It's interesting to note that Burke Rochford held a directorship position along with Hridayananda. Rochford has on numerous occasions written commentaries on ISKCON's social and institutional history, generally presented in the mood of being independent academic analysis. The fact that he has served as co-director of a corporation along with an ISKCON Guru, Swami, and until recently, GBC member, is something one might have expected to see in a disclosure statement preceding Rochford's academic commentaries on ISKCON.
It is not clear to us who the personality Tridandiswami B. Maharaja is. B.V. Narayana goes by the name Tridandiswami BV Nayarana Maharaja. There is also HH Tridandiswami Bhaktivedanta Tirtha Maharaja, HH Tridandi Swami Bhaktivedanta Vana Maharaja, HH Tridandi Swami Sri B.V. Madhusudana Maharaja of the Gaudiya Matha, and no doubt others. Perhaps a more informed reader will be able to clarify.
We find an interesting array of corporations representing Vaisnava and Vedic educational pursuits in this cluster map. These organizations may serve as an example of how such entities evolve; while some become inactive, other new entities may be incorporated with more broad missions. For example, both the American Federation of Vaishnava Colleges and Schools and the American Federation of Vedic Colleges and Schools are now inactive. They were incorporated in 1994 and 1998, respectively. Later, in 2007, the International Federation of Vedic Colleges and Schools. The three organizations are obviously associated in some way, all three having Randy Stein as registered agent, with a corporate address in Coral Springs, Florida.
Because of its interconnection with numerous other entities, the American Federation of Vedic Colleges and Schools is considered a keystone corporation.
