Corporate ISKCON, Part 22

In today's Cluster Report we continue mapping various Florida organizations, all of which appear to be ISKCON or devotee related. One of the most notable names appearing in today's map is HH Tripurari Swami, who appears as a director in five different corporations. Aside from one of them, the Gaudiya Vaisnava Society, Incorporated, all the others appear to be related to the green 'save the earth' movement.
Those corporations in which sannyasis hold positions of ownership and power are of particular interest in this study. Such connections have to be considered as indicative of a swami's preaching mood and mission, and should therefore come under scrutiny by the community of devotees, particularly if the swami is operating within ISKCON (which Tripurari Maharaja is not).
Another interesting dynamic that we'll see raised in the various relationships mapped through corporations are the points of crossover, where personalities connected with ISKCON are also shown to be connected with other Gaudiya Matha and B.V. Narayana organizations.
There are numerous examples in ISKCON today of wealthy individuals who are financially supporting both ISKCON temples and B.V. Narayana programs. We find one such example locally, in Vancouver B.C., where two brothers, disciples of Gopal Krishna Goswami, are closely involved with temple management and funding. One brother, Akrura dasa, is currently a co-Temple President of Vancouver. His brother, Adi deva dasa, has been known as an open supporter, financially and otherwise, of B.V. Narayana over the years.
The brothers are among the inside group closely involved in the perennially ongoing effort to build a new temple for ISKCON Vancouver, whose original facility is in great need of repair or replacement. What we find to be of significant interest in this regard, and in similar situations, is if and how fund-raising efforts and patron relationships criss-cross between the two camps.
While we have no reason to believe this is occurring in Vancouver, and don't mean to infer that it is, there are no doubt situations existing where temple fundraising programs are being run by individuals in ISKCON who are also sympathetic to the Narayana camp or other mathas, the result being that to some degree, personal relationships are leveraged to give support to camps on both sides of the river.
It behooves ISKCON management to be aware of such dynamics, so that the results of efforts made on Srila Prabhupada's behalf are not diverted to other camps – particularly those based on asiddhantic philosophy. This could easily occur when, for example, an ISKCON temple covers the cost of a fundraising campaign, whether the expenditure be cash from the temple treasury, the labor of grassroots devotees, or the temple's goodwill and local reputation. If there are instances where fundraising efforts are made, and persons of influence with a foot on both sides of the river leverage their relationships to simultaneously raise funds and/or support for both camps, then a disservice is being done to Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON. As our astute readers will recognize, this dynamic has almost certainly occurred in ISKCON in the past, and is quite likely occurring today.
