Sex Doctor Lecturing at ISKCON Denmark

Dec 13, 2012 — CANADA (SUN) —

A Sun reader informs us that a doctor employed as Director of the Food for Life Medical Center in Vrindavan has been discovered to be promoting sex, "therapeutic sex", belly dancing and Shiva mantras to his patients and the devotee audience. Dr. Sanjay Pisharodi (Shyamavallabh das) has been associated with the Bhaktivedanta Hospital since as early as 2006.

Following is a Facebook posting our reader made, with Google translate and a few corrections. It is entitled "WARNING: SEX-DOCTOR IS LECTURING IN ISKCON DENMARK!" The following email was sent by him to leading devotees in ISKCON Denmark (with no response received thus far):

    Dear devotees!

At the temple Facebook group (Krishna.dk) and the Krishna House in Aarhus' Facebook group there is currently an advertisement a for a Radhanath Swami disciple who is a doctor and alternative therapist. For example, on the Facebook group Krishna.dk it is written:

"Haribolo. Shyam Valabha Prabhu, the good Indian doctor who is currently in Aarhus, asked me to post this on the forum. This is an interesting seminar which will probably be really good."

Another devotee writes on his personal Facebook page:

"My friend Dr. Sanjay Pisharodi trained alopatisk doctor (western doctor) and is in addition ayurvedic doctor. A truly exciting combination! He holds a seminar in Philosophical Center here in Aarhus on 8 and 9 December, and I recommend the warmest to participate. It is a revolutionary experience for one's health and understanding of the body's functions. lecture is in English. See more here:"

Syama-Vallabha Prabhu works not only with Ayurveda, but also with chakra healing, Patanjali, yoga postures, pranic healing, emotional healing, cosmetics, acupuncture, acid-alkaline balance, breathing exercises, detox, astrology, hand reading, Vastu , hypnotherapy, spiritual healing, recitation of Siva-mantras, homeopathy, biofeedback, and more!

    I'm wondering about 2 things:

    1. Radhanath Swami has surely blessed this kind of activity and preaching? It amazes me why so many of the Danish Radhanath Swami disciples (and others) over the years have expressed so much dissatisfaction with this kind of preaching? It amazes me also that he gets space on krishna.dk when others who preaches in the same way do not! But maybe there is something I have misunderstood? Anyway, you can think about this. You do not have to answer.

    2. On its website writes Syama Vallabha that the "best therapy" for imbalances in Svadhisthana chakra and Manipura Chakra are "sex" and "belly dance". (www.Purnarogya.com)

Is this really something you want to allow on your side - Krishna.dk and in the temple, and wherever else he now lectures? Is this really the kind of lectures and devotees you want to help promote? I know, he has lectured in the temple and the devotees recommended to consult him:

"Shyama Vallabha Prabhu and his wife, Subhadra Priya dd, who is also a doctor are both disciples of Radhanath Maharaja. Shyama Vallabha Prabhu was brahmacari in the temple in Mumbai for 7 years before he took his medical training. He is really good! Can highly recommend him :)"
(Posted on Krishna.dk - Facebook group by leading ISKCON Denmark member and Radhanath disciple)

I don't want to be on your case, but I think this is something you need to look at! Hope that there will be a kind of public announcement about it, so the devotees are warned. Alternatively, Syama Vallabha should correct it on its site and not to make such statements. I would like to know what Radhanath Swami says about this?

I do not hope I have given you too much work!

Have a fantastic day and week!

Many affectionate greetings from your eternal friend and servant!

    …. dasa

Subsequently, the Ayurvedic "doctor" changed the text on his website, which led this prabhu to write this follow-up email to the senior devotees:

    Dear devotees!

I am appalled to see that Syama Vallabha Prabhu, the Ayurvedic doctor, has changed his website so that it no longer says that "sex" is the best therapeutic healing method for Svadhisthana chakra. Now it's suddenly "Controlled therapeutic sex". This proves that he actually believes this is true. It is not something he just has copy-pasted from somewhere else. This is a clear deviation from the four regulative principles. Should this man still be promoted by leading Danish ISKCON members? I know he will give lectures in the Krishna House today [Sunday 9th Dec.]! What's going on?

I would like to see the Danish association of devotees warned against this "doctor".

    Best regards,
    …. dasa
