Letters to GBC and Disciples of Radhanatha Swami

BY: GIRI-NAYAKA DASA (BVS)

Dec 29, SLOVENIA (SUN) — What follows is a series of letters Giri-nayaka dasa attempted to send through the PAMHO system to members of the GBC and to the disciples of Radhanatha Swami. The first, an open letter to the GBC, was published in the Sun on December 26th.

That letter was followed by another on December 28th, directed to individual disciples of Radhanatha Swami. Attached to this letter was a copy of the original Sun story, "New Vrindaban History, for the Record", along with a reply by Navadvipchandra dasa entitled "Shocking Evidence Points to Radhanatha Swami" (which was posted on PAMHO under the title Radhanatha Swami Exposed by Murderer Tirtha Das.

Subject: Letter for disciples of Radhanatha Maharaja
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Dear disciples of Radhanatha Maharaja.
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

As you are probably already aware, serious criticisms against your Guru, Radhanatha Maharaja, were posted on several internet pages and Pamho.

It all started one week ago, by a letter posted on internet pages (added below for your reference as ADD1), and continued on Pamho forums (added below as ADD2). I immediately contacted GBC and asked them, to confirm or refute those accusations. I recieved reply from Malati Mataji, explaining in great detail the questionable nature of the author. But the questionable nature of author was already obvious from his own involvement in the case, and there was no real need for further display of his faults. Therefore I rather asked Malati Mataji again for her clear statement regarding position of Radhanatha Maharaja in this case, but received no answer from her untill today.

After that I immediately wrote to whole GBC again, according to the list of their personal email addresses, which I recieved directly from GBC secretariat some time ago. I presented to them seriousness of accusations against Radhanatha Maharaja, and asked them to kindly publish their official statement regarding those accusations. There was no reply.

Untill today, over the last seven days, I wrote to entire GBC four letters, begging them all to make their official statement regarding accusations against Radhanatha Swami available to all ISKCON followers.

I tried my best, four letter in seven days. I think my writing further letters to GBC will not provide solution. Probably the reason is, that I'm just one, single voice, and I'm not even disciple of Radhanatha Maharaja.

Since I'm not personally involved in this case, I'm trying not to take sides yet. I don't know what truth is. But my point is, that such criticisms cannot be allowed against any bonafide vaisnava, link in vaisnava sampradaya and leader in bonafide spiritual organization. Radhanatha Maharaja, who is topmost ISKCON guru, with many qualified disciples, and even GBC member, deserves all help and support from the side of GBC. Why all the silence? Why not standing strong, and fight for the truth. It is a duty of GBC to stand strong in protecting devotees, to expose sin and to protect purity of Srila Prabhupada's movement.

Therefore, since I understand, that this case concerns you the most, I'm informing you of those criticisms, about my actions to call for official statement from GBC, and persistent silence from the side of GBC. I did what I could, I can still maybe inform all Temple Prasidents about intriguing silence of GBC, and if needed all devotees on Pamho. But thats as much as I can do in my quest for getting clear official statement from GBC regarding this most disturbing case. Now, if you feel that this case concerns you enough, you may also want to stand up and do what you may consider proper.

    Thank you

    your servant Giri-nayaka das

    Dear Giri-nayaka Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP!

I have erased your text 12800083 about Radhanatha Swami. The PAMHO Agreement (www.pamho.net/agree.htm ) does not allow you to send such texts. Publishing unconfirmed accusations is a criminal offense.

Having received no response from the GBC to his numerous inquiries, Giri-nayaka wrote a fourth letter to the GBC, asking for their opinion on the involvement of Radhanatha Swami in the New Vrindaban murder cases. Attached to this letter was a copy of Navadvipchandra dasa's article "Shocking Evidence Points to Radhanatha Swami", along with a link to the original article from 'Tirtha in Prison'.

    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Dear GBC Members.
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I'm sorry to contact you again on this matter, now already for the forth time in last seven days. I wish it was not so, but it is necessary.

Criticism against Radhanatha Maharaja reached Pamho forums, two days ago. I'm adding the text below. Author requested all readers to spread the letter arround, and send it to all disciples of Radhanatha Maharaja.

As I see it, GBC should stand strong in this case, and take lead in forming opinion of ISKCON followers. Your silence is intriguing, and quite disturbing to the mind. But I'm also aware the you must have good reasons to be silent. As your own chairman told me some time ago, GBC is the only group of devotees, who really know what Srila Prabhupada wanted. Therefore I'm sure, that whatever you do, will eventually be what Krsna wanted, because if anybody is puppet in Krsna's hands, then GBC is surely the puppet in Krsna's hands.

Still, for the benefit of all ISKCON followers, it would be convinient, if GBC would publically explain, how we are to see these accusations against Radhanatha Swami. Maharaja is one of GBC's top men, leading Guru in ISKCON, and many devotees are dependent on him for their spiritual guidance. If accusations against him are a lie, then GBC would do well to protect him and his disciples. After all he is one of you, your godbrother, your friend, your people, he is working hard for ISKCON, and he surely deserves to be protected by GBC in any way possible. You cannot just let such criticisms go by, without even one word from you. GBC has all reasons to stand up strong and protect Radhanatha Maharaja and his followers.

And above all, such criticisms just cannot exist against any leader of bonafide spiritual group. It is just improper. Spiritual leader in vaisnava sampradaya cannot be exposed to such criticisms. It is completely unthinkable for bonafide link in vaisnava sampradaya to have burden of such criticism upon themselves. It is embarassing, and disgraceful. We should be ashamed, that Krsna is treating us like this. But it is surely in place, and requires our response. It must be dealt with. It is a duty of ISKCON leaders to protect their own people, to expose sin, and protect purity. If ISKCON fails to protect their topmost leader, it will be seen as great failure of ISKCON leadership. Speritual leader cannot just be left to be freely criticized. If it is a lie, criticizer must be persecuted to highest extent.

Please, GBC members, kindly tell to ISKCON how are we supposed to see this accusations against Radhanatha Maharaja in light of Krsna Consciousness. What is the purpose of this for our devotional development, and how to deal with it in a spiritual way, so that Srila Prabhupada will be satisfied with us, and will bless us with his caring glance.

    Thank you

    your servant Giri-nayaka das

After the text of his first letter to the disciples of Radhanath Swami was deleted by Ramakanta Prabhu, PAMHO's SysOp, Giri-nayaka dasa contacted him to ask what parts of the letter were found to be offensive. His reply was that the quotes had to be removed.

    Dear Giri-nayaka Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP!

    >Can you please let me know which parts of text fall in category of not
    > allowed, so that I can remove/revise them?

Your part is okay. So just remove the quoted texts with the accusations.

    >My text was a plea to all Radhanath Swami disciples, that they ask GBC to
    > make public statement regarding the accusations against Radhanatha Swami.

Just do that. There is no need to quote the accusations. The GBC already knows them. And the disciples of Radhanath Swami do not have to know the details.

    ys Ramakanta dasa

Giri-nayaka dasa then submitted the following revised letter to the disciples of Radhanath Swami, and this letter was presumably allowed to be sent through the PAMHO system:

Subject: Letter for disciples of Radhanatha Maharaja
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Dear disciples of Radhanatha Maharaja.
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

    --------------------------------------
THIS IS A MODIFIED VERSION OF PREVIOUSLY DELETED TEXT! Direct quotes have been removed, to avoid exposing you to criticisms. After being notified by Ramakanta Prabhu, pamho sysop, that my text has to be deleted, I asked him if I can resend my text without offending texts, and he allowed it, saying "Your part is okay. So just remove the quoted texts with the accusations." So, here it is again, for your information and consideration.
    --------------------------------------
NOTE: GBC is fully informed of all offending texts, and you can try to contact them for further info and cooperation. Texts are most disturbing and you, the disciples of Radhanath Swami, do not have to know the details. --------------------------------------

As you are probably already aware, serious criticisms against your Guru, Radhanatha Maharaja, were posted on several internet pages and Pamho.

Having next received the threat of removal from PAMHO, Giri-nayaka dasa wrote the following letter in response to the PAMHO SysOp's letter of warning:

    Subject: critical texts
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Dear Ramakanta Prabhu.
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Thank you for letting me know. It is most intersting that you were requested to remove me from PAMHO entirely.

I'd say I have reached the limit. Basically I have said what was to be said.

Yes, Kazakhsthan was a tricky part. If Kazakh government would read it, they would just see how uninformed we are by our own leaders, and how manipulated we are, to the point of being ready to go on the streets and protest against the whole country, with attempt to destroy that country's political image in the world. They would see that, and possibly they would die laughing at our naivity and foolishness. I agree with you, it was a dangerous text, indeed.

Now ISKCON seniors will present me as danger to ISKCON? Thats amazing. I wish you would know me in person. I'm such an ordinary person, with family, four kids, house and car, (yes, plenty of computers and gizmos in my studio...), but completely simple, just nobody. You wouldn't even notice me, even in small assembly. I like prasadam, and I gave my life to following Srila Prabhupada, and I wish that one day I may become qualified as his accepted follower. My fault is, that I'm not willing to ignore things which I see as harmful to Srila Prabhupada's ISKCON, and am even willing to openly speak about it. I would allways raise my voice whenever I saw some questionable things in ISKCON. That was allways my problem in ISKCON, and I was kicked because of this for unlimited times. And because I'm materially independent from ISKCON, there is really nothing that ISKCON can do to me, to materially force me to accept situation as it is.

Now the attempt is made, to terminate my Pamho account. I'm thankfull, that you will give me a second chance. There is actually just one single thing, which is binding me to Pamho. It is the nectar of Srila Prabhupada's quotes, which are so merciufully posted every day by Bhakti Vikasa Maharaja, and other devotees. But BVKS is really amazingly steady, every day he posts a quote, without fail. It is my daily sadhana, to run Pamho, and read that quote. It makes my every day. For this reason alone, I wish not to lose PAMHO. You got me, I will submit to your request, and stop posting critical texts on PAMHO, unless I'm ordered by an authority (guru, GBC, temple president) to do so (which will probably never happen).

    Thank you

    your servant Giri-nayaka das
