"We're going to build a puspa samadhi for Jayananda prabhu, in Mayapura soon. Krsna Mangala prabhu is the main organizer of this project. We need some personal article of Jayananda, like a bead bag, or some item like clothing, or some personal effect, to use for the puspa samadhi, and we will purchase, or accept donation of such item. If any devotee would know where we might procure such item, we would be extremely grateful, and Srila Prabhupada and Lord Krishna will be very pleased as well.

The devotees in LA auctioned Jayananda's effects to devotees after he departed. If there's any devotee out there who knows any of the devotees who bought some item at this auction, and can direct us to that devotee, so that we might procure such item, we would greatly appreciate such help. If such devotee could supply us with a phone # or email address, it would really help us.

Thanking you in advance, and all glories to your service, "

I was around when Ramesvara and his gang of thugs approached Srila Prabhupada and tried to have him say that Jayananda das was a pure devotee. He said all his devotes if they followed the regs were pure. Later they again tried to get verification as to "if Siddhasvarup was a pure devotee" and once again, he said "follow the regs and they are all pure".

So many offenses were made against Srila Prabhupada by people who desired to glorify embodied beings other than their own Guru. They did this in his face. This lack of vision and etiquette ultimately led to many a neophyte's downfall.

In my humble opinion and the opinion of the Sastra, a disciple should not glorify anyone on the status of nitya-siddha other then his Guru (direct connection with Krishna) while he is personally present.

Don't misunderstand me. Jayananda was a very nice mid-western devotee and was very pious compared to some city slickers from drug filled ghettos and gangers from the streets of the cities. In comparison he may appear to have been a saint, but to say he was on an equal level as Haridas Thakur is a stretch.

Srila Prabhupada liked him very much and he in return loved and served His Divine Grace and the devotees with great attention. I am sure he is upset with this entire display of non-sense.
