BY: SUN STAFF
Mar 26, CANADA (SUN) A two-part exploration of the rock-cut temple complex at Mahabalipuram.
In part one of this survey of rock-cut shrines at Mahaballapuram, we provided a site map of the five temples and three animal sculptures (elephant, lion and bull) in the complex. Vaisampayana said, 'When the Brahma-weapon was withdrawn by Krishna, at that time, the laying-in room was illumined by thy father with his energy. All the Rakshasas (that had come there) were forced to leave the room and many of them met with destruction. In the welkin a voice was heard, saying, 'Excellent, O Kesava, Excellent!'

The Bhakti Movement - Guru Nanak, Part Two
BY: SUN STAFF
Mar 25, CANADA (SUN) A serial presentation of the Bhakti Movement's development in India.
In Part Two of his commentary on the progression of the Bhakti cult throughout North and South India, author M.S. Ahluwalia suggests that the Bhakti Movement served as a representative for the South India Aryan culture, moving northward during the medieval period. Into the midst of Dravidian animism, Bhakti proponents infused the cults of Vishnu and Shiva. Underpinned by a strong spiritual philosophy, the Vaisnava movement quickly fructified into a great religious force.

Vaisampayana said, 'The helpless Uttara, desirous of getting back her child, having indulged in these piteous lamentations, fell down in affliction on the earth like a demented creature. Beholding the princess fallen on the earth deprived of her son and with her body uncovered, Kunti as also all the (other) Bharata ladies deeply afflicted, began to weep aloud.

Praying to be excused for his offenses, the author concludes his book—- O Lord, although I am an unqualified fool, sullied with the mud of false-ego and false-possessiveness, I have tried to describe Your pure devotional service, which is confidential even for the Vedas. In the creative expressions of my thoughts and words, I consider that I have certainly committed offenses to You. O Lord, O ocean of mercy, I am certainly very wretched and worthy to be punished. Please forgive me.

The puissant Krishna, that foremost of men, by uttering these words, gladdened all the people assembled there, like one pouring cold water on a person afflicted with sweat.

Thousands become More Colorful at Spanish Fork Festival
BY: STAFF CORRESPONDENT
Mar 24, SPANISH FORK, UTAH (ABC4) National media coverage for Caru's Spanish Fork Holi Festival: no mention of Srila Prabhupada or Krishna, but 330 tons of chalk at 2 bucks a bag.
An estimated fifty-thousand people are expected in Spanish Fork this weekend to throw colored chalk at each other. Tens of thousands showed up Saturday at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple for the Festival of Colors.
Organizers say the act of throwing colors into the air, and at each other, began five thousand years ago in India. For many, like Hilary Cook, and her family, this year's Festival of Colors is a first celebration. "Are you looking forward to it?" She asks her children. "Yes, they are a little nervous but it will be fun."
