SYRUP SWEETS - RASOBORA

Rashobora

White urad dal 1-1/4 cups
Coconut, grated 1/4 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Ghee 4 tbsps.


Soak the dal overnight, next morning, drain and grind the dal to a fine paste. Whip the batter with a spoon of water and mix in the grated coconut. Heat ghee in a kadhai, make little balls and put in the hot ghee. Deep fry till nice and brown. Make a sugar syrup and drop the balls in. Let them soak for an hour, then offer.

Rasobora

Urad dal - 1-1/4 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Grated coconut - 1/8 cup
Cardamom powder - 2 tsp.
Ghee for frying
Salt to taste


Soak urad dal overnight. Drain and grind to a fine paste. Whip batter with a tbspn. of water, salt and add coconut. Heat ghee in a wok. Drop small dollops of batter in wok and deep fry, till crisp and brown. Make sugar syrup by melting sugar in warm water. Add cardamom powder in syrup, and add dumplings.
