Background Information on Isa dasa

Because of his role in the recent genesis of this unfolding situation, we feel it is important to provide background information about Isa dasa, including the history of his service to Srila Prabhupada and ISKCON.

Isa dasa joined Srila Prabhupada’s mission in 1974, in Miami. He was trained by Satsvarupa dasa Goswami as his servant, and later as Vice President in many temples where Satsvarupa dasa Goswami sent him to assist, including Dallas, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. He worked closely with Satsvarupa dasa Goswami on the program of placing sets of Srila Prabhupada’s books in university libraries throughout the world, and arranged all of the Goswami’s college lectures, which numbered four or more a day for almost eight months.

Later, Isa dasa and Sesa das tried to help move the Lake Huntington Gurukula to Gita Nagari, but when Satsvarupa dasa Goswami quit the GBC, cooperation was not forthcoming, and the project fell apart.

In the past, Isa dasa opened and operated a restaurant near Florida International University, where he contributed over $150,000.00, serving Prashad to students and professors. In order to provide for his wife and two children, he has pursued a career in the computer industry.

Since publication of the Caitanya-caritamrta, Isa dasa has been very outspoken in his criticism of anyone who has gone to the Gaudiya Matha for instruction, or has taken reinitiation from Srila Prabhupada’s Godbrothers.

In addition to his direct service to Srila Prabhupada, Isa dasa is also a scholar and author. He has written a book entitled, “The Rabbi and I: Jewish Roots in the Vedas”, which can be found on-line at http://owplaza.com/souls.

Many would agree that Isa dasa is an extremely trustworthy devotee. He has demonstrated both his support for ISKCON and his love for Srila Prabhupada in many ways over the years.

“My history is not without fault, Although I have never doubted Srila Prabupada and Krsna for a second.”
